Creating Original Stories
Objective: To help students create original stories and to develop good
communication skills.
Participants: Groups of students
Materials: Good starters for stories
Procedure: Divide the class into groups. Each group pick out from a pile of starters such as, “Once upon a time there was this poor little rich girl….” Each child takes turns by adding clearly a sentence of his/her own story. When everyone has had a turn, somebody makes a ending statement, possibly a moral lesson learned from the story.
Variations: This could be used for special holidays such as Halloween, Christmas, and Thanksgiving, for the spookiest, most exciting, and happiest story.
